Shoreview Park Renovation Project

Completed and Opened to the Public June 7, 2021!

Background

The 0.85-acre Shoreview Park is located at 1 Lillian Court between Beatrice Lane and Rosie Lee Lanes and it is at Hunters Point Hill in District 10 (Block 4713/Lot 008). The Park was transferred to the City of San Francisco on behalf of it Recreation and Park ( RPD ) from the Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure ( OCII ), as the successor of the former San Francisco Redevelopment Agency ( SFRA ) per Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 219-17 approved on June 13, 2007. OCCI transferred U.S. Department of Housing and Community Development, Community Development Block Grant ( CDBG ) program income funds in the amount of $1.9 million transferred for capital improvements at Shoreview Park.

The park was constructed by SFRA in 1979 as one of many mini-parks built to serve residents of the newly constructed affordable housing on Hunters Point Hill. The park has not fully functioned since the early 2000s and it features a concrete children’s play area, large lawn area, trees, picnic tables, barbecue areas and a southeasterly view of the Bay.

Scope of Work

The renovation of Shoreview Park included new:

  • Accessible path of travel to park areas
  • Children’s play area
  • Irrigation, planting, and landscape areas
  • Park lighting
  • Picnic area and site furnishings
