Sharp Park Habitat Improvements

Sharp Park Nature Habitat

Scope of Work

Sharp Park Safety, Infrastructure Improvement and Habitat Enhancement Project consists of improvements to the Horse Stable Pond pump house structure to enhance maintenance access and safety, and to the Laguna Salada/Horse Stable Pond wetland complex to restore habitat for protected species and remove impediments to water flow.

Work at the wetland complex included sediment and vegetation removal in Horse Stable Pond and a connecting channel to restore and enhance habitat for the California red-legged frog and the San Francisco garter snake. Additionally, a new pond was constructed for the California red-legged frog.
