Golden Gate Park - Lawn Bowling Green

Completed and Open to the Public!

Scope of Work

San Francisco Lawn Bowling Green 1 was renovated to include a concrete edge/gutter, an accessible pathway around the green and a new gate and fence on north and south sides. The green closed through summer 2014.

Funding

This project is funded through the 2008 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks General Obligation Bond, specifically from the Community Opportunity Fund ( COF ) - a program that allows residents, neighborhood groups, and park advocates like San Francisco Lawn Bowling Club ( SFLBC ) to initiate capital improvements by matching public funding with private gifts, and volunteer sweat equity.

Expected SFLBC Green 1 Improvements Timeline:

  • January 2013 - Mobilization and ground demolition
  • February/March 2014 - survey, trenching, formwork
  • April 2014 - concrete installation
  • May/June 2014 - Fence install/Lawn establishment
  • Summer 2014 - Project Completion
