Garfield Pool Improvement Project

Garfield Pool and Clubhouse opened to the public July 2021!

Project Scope

The project scope included a full renovation of the existing pool building and the demolition and replacement of the adjacent clubhouse building. The newly reconfigured recreation center includes a shared entry lobby to access the pool facility and clubhouse, a new multi-purpose courtyard, improved park accessibility, and new landscaping.

Funding

The project was funded by the 2012 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond at $11 million, and IPIC Eastern Neighborhood Impact Fees at $8.7 million.

The construction contract award for this project was approved by Recreation and Parks Commission; Recreation and Parks Commission approved a contract amendment on April 21, 2020 ( PDF ). This construction contract award obtained and complies with all city, state, and federal regulatory approvals, including any that are specific to this project’s funding sources.
