Crocker Amazon Soccer Fields
Completed and Open to the Public in October 2023!
Scope of Work
Prior to this project, the synthetic turf on the fields was over 10 years old and at the end of its useful life.
This project included the following improvements:
- Replacing field turf with new material that utilizes natural infill
- Repairs and improvements to the perimeter fence and gates
- Installation of new site furnishings including field goals and drinking fountains
- Sidewalk accessibility improvements along Geneva Ave and accessible parking improvements at the Geneva Ave parking lot
All of the old turf was removed and recycled.
Funding
Recreation and Parks Department General Fund and the City Fields Foundation totaling $6.75 million.
The construction contract award for this project was approved by Recreation and Parks Commission on December 15, 2022 ( PDF ); Recreation and Parks Commission approved a contract amendment on July 20, 2023 ( PDF ). This construction contract award obtained and complies with all city, state, and federal regulatory approvals, including any that are specific to this project’s funding sources.
