Alice Chalmers Playground
Completed and Opened to the public on October 14th, 2020!
Background
The renovation of Alice Chalmers Playground was part of Let’sPlaySF! Initiative, a partnership between the Recreation and Park Department and the San Francisco Parks Alliance that seeks to inspire creativity and play throughout the City.
Scope of Work
The scope of work included installation of new play equipment and perform site improvements to meet current building and safety codes. Additional improvements were made to restrooms and the main entrance to improve accessibility.
Funding
This project is funded by the 2012 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond – Let’sPlaySF! Initiative, totaling $3.1 million. Thank you to the community and partners for making this project possible!
The construction contract award for this project was approved by Recreation and Parks Commission on February 6, 2019 ( PDF ); Recreation and Parks Commission approved a contract amendment on November 6, 2019 ( PDF ). This construction contract award obtained and complies with all city, state, and federal regulatory approvals, including any that are specific to this project’s funding sources.
