Trocadero Clubhouse Repairs

RESERVATIONS FOR TROCADERO CLUBHOUSE ARE CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE.

For information about reservations post-construction (Early 2025), PLEASE VISIT OUR RESERVATIONS PAGE .

Background

Trocadero Clubhouse in Sigmund Stern Grove, a San Francisco Historical Landmark, was severely damaged in March 2023 when a storm toppled an 85-foot eucalyptus tree, partially crushing the clubhouse roof and triggering a deluge from its interior sprinkler system.

The building is closed until the repairs are completed. The restrooms adjacent to Trocadero Clubhouse are open to the public during park hours.

Scope of Work This project’s work includes extensive restoration of the Trocadero to its historic condition, replacement of the roof, rafters, eave, cupola, framing, windows, walls, finishes, wood molding, floors, and lights, while salvaging as much original material as possible or replicating to match original detailing.

Funding The $2.5 million project is being funded through Rec and Park’s general fund, with an expected reimbursement through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
