About this Facility
Tucked away at the foot of Glen Canyon, Glen Park Recreation Center offers a wide array of activities for the entire family, including baseball, tennis, basketball, and the city’s first public climbing wall. Glen Park Recreation Center reopened in 2017 after a $22 million renovation project.
Glen Park offers Tot Playtime, Pilates, Yoga-Vinyasa, Physical Conditioning for Seniors, Zumba, Book Group, Bingo, Pickleball, Badminton, Volleyball, Basketball, Wheelchair Basketball, Parkour, Rock Climbing, Memoir Writing, Movie Nights, Tai Chi, and more.
Natural Area
Beyond Glen Canyon Park’s recreation center, ball field, and tennis courts lies a large urban canyon with incredible spring wildflower displays, dramatic chert rock formations, and Islais Creek, one of the few remaining free-flowing creeks in San Francisco. This 60-acre wilderness, formerly referred to as the San Miguel Hills, provides critical habitat for a wide array of wildlife and serves as a relaxing sanctuary from the city’s urban bustle. An extensive network of hiking trails leads through a variety of habitats, from lush creekside vegetation to the rocky grasslands and scrublands of the canyon’s steep eastern slope, where a profusion of wildflowers blooms each spring.
