Gene Friend Recreation Center Renovation
Gene Friend Recreation Center is currently under renovation. The project will replace the former facility with a bright, modern recreation center with more space to serve children, families, seniors, and the SoMa neighborhood.
The new approximately 25,000-square-foot center is planned to include a gymnasium with two full-size basketball courts, a modern exercise area, a kitchenette, a reception area and office, two multipurpose rooms, a new exterior playground, picnic area, sport court, landscaping, lighting, and a new entry on Harriet Street.
