Golden Gate Park is home to the oldest public archery range in the country. Dating over 100 years old & the birthplace of a few of archery’s greatest legends! This wonderful park gem leaves you asking yourself, how you never discovered it before.
Located at the far west end of the park, the archery range is open to archers of all skill levels–from beginners to Olympians. There are 10 marked shooting lanes, including two ADA accessible targets. Targets are a mix of traditional hay bales for recurve archers & synthetic targets for compound bows. Marked distances are 18, 30, 50, 70 and 90 meters!
Archers must bring their own target faces, bows, and arrows. Use of the range is free and is based on a first-come, first-served basis.
Equipment can be rented nearby, and Rec and Park offers a variety of city-wide archery programs for all ages and abilities.
