About this site

Like any good SF local, I love our wonderful park system, but the offical SF Rec and Parks site is a pain to use. I was inspired to try making a more functional version of the site after an incident where I tried accessing the site on my phone to find new Twin Peaks trails, but the page disappeared every time I attempted to scroll.

This site is built using Hugo and Congo, and the content is copied over from the official SF Rec and Parks site (typos and broken links included). The non-English content is generated via Google Translate, which is also how the official SF Rec and Parks site works, believe it or not. Primarily this site will only replicate informational pages, for any forms/registrations/live updates please visit the official SF Rec and Parks site, I’m aiming to refresh the content on this site weekly.

Of course, this is a temporary solution until we can get the SF Rec and Parks department enough funding to refresh their site, at which point I’ll be more than happy to take this site down.
